“We are colorful, we smell amazing, and we love to be a part of the community,” said Sheridan Mordue, owner of the brand-new storefront Hip & Humble, the latest offering from Paradies Lagardère at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Located on the D/E Connector, Hip & Humble is a giftware boutique offering a curated selection of products, including clothing, décor and a large array of locally sourced goods and other trinkets. Though it began with one location in Salt Lake City, the brand now has two streetside locations in its hometown and is featured in five airports.
“I started Hip & Humble with my sister right after I graduated from the University of Utah,” Mordue explained. “We started as a home furnishing store because we love interior design. But the lifecycle of a business can be varied, and the path is never straight. We slowly but surely introduced giftware into our collection, and that’s what our customers really responded to. Today, we offer lots of fun, interesting gifts that can make you laugh. They can make you cry. And they are appropriate for everyone on your gift list.”
One thing is for sure: Hip & Humble will put a smile on your face. Upon entering the store, you’ll be greeted by an enticing fragrance and surrounded by a colorful array of offerings. The ambiance of the store has a way of lowering stress levels and heightening any mood. It’s the perfect pitstop for travelers looking to buy a quick gift for a loved one or spend some time between flights.
“My biggest joy from this business comes from bringing joy to other people, and I think anyone walking by is going to want to stop in and just feel that happy feeling. Just enjoy yourself.”
