Airport to Host June 27 Certification Event
For Small, Minority and Women Owned Businesses

June 12, 2017 - Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is holding a certification event on Tuesday, June 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the CLT Center for small, minority and women owned businesses who are interested in doing work at CLT and with the city of Charlotte. The Airport is seeking to broaden its base of certified firms in preparation for the influx of development projects in coming months.

The event is open to any firm not currently certified with the city as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE). Firms also should have a significant business presence in one or more of the following counties: Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Union, York, Chester and Lancaster.

CLT is in the midst of Destination CLT, a $2.5 billion capital investment program aimed at enhancing capacity based on the Airport's growth forecast through 2035. It includes terminal renovations and expansion of the roadways, curb front, airfield and terminal.

Based on the work involved in upcoming projects, there is an emphasis on the following areas of specialty:

  • Plumbing
  • Signage
  • Doors & Windows
  • Steel
  • Glass
  • Masonry
  • Millwork
  • Fire Protection
  • Insulation
 

All interested firms are welcome to attend. The event is free. Topics will include:
