January 25th, 2019– The Aviation Department is holding a Federal Employee Resource Fair 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday, January 31 at the CLT Center to help connect federal workers with organizations able to assist them during the government shutdown. All federal workers are invited to attend.
"The Aviation Department is part of the Charlotte community, and as such, we want to help support all federal workers during this difficult time and provide them with the resources they need," said CLT Aviation Director/CEO Brent Cagle. "It is one small way we can try to help a large segment of federal employees at CLT and throughout the City who are affected by the government shutdown."
Multiple social service agencies are participating including: Crisis Assistance Ministry, the Airport Chaplaincy, Charlotte Water, Second Harvest Food Bank, Duke Energy and Loaves & Fishes. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with organization representatives.
Free parking will be available in Business Valet II, which is located across from the CLT Center. Parking attendants will be on site to direct drivers. The CLT Center is located at 5601 Wilkinson Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28208.
Media will not be allowed to film inside the Resource Fair to ensure privacy, but City representatives will be available for comment at 2 p.m. that day in Ticketing between Checkpoints D and E.
For local residents who would like to assist, please donate to your favorite local charity, such as the participating agencies previously listed.
