From July 9-21 many American Airlines ticket counters will temporarily relocate for a critical construction phase in the Terminal Lobby Expansion project.
During this 12-day period, all American ticket counters between Checkpoint C and Checkpoint E will close.
Temporary Ticket Counters
- Outside Door 2: four kiosks and four ticket counters
- Mobile podiums: two dynamic ticket counters set up in available space
- Use other airlines’ ticket counters as available
Important Information
Passengers are strongly advised to arrive 2½ hours prior to domestic flights and 3½ hours before international flights during this time.
The Airport and American Airlines will deploy extra staff and additional signage to direct travelers curbside and in the lobby.
The self-service kiosks in the lobby are not impacted, nor is the American bag drop location.
Project Updates
Project updates will be posted on CLT social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and Facebook.
The Terminal Lobby Expansion is a six-year project that is scheduled to be complete in 2025. It is transforming the terminal, which was built in 1982 to accommodate 2.8 million travelers a year. In 2023, CLT passenger traffic reached a record 53.4 million.
The Airport appreciates travelers’ patience during this time.
