Airport Sees High Traffic Over Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving travel saw travelers moving through CLT Airport in record numbers. From Nov. 21 to Dec. 2, over 409,000 passengers were screened at TSA checkpoints, reflecting a 5% rise over last year. That’s an average of more than 34,000 passengers screened daily—1,600 more each day than 2023.
In total, around 990,000 passengers departed from CLT over the holiday, marking a 4% increase from the previous year. The total number of passengers (including both arrivals and departures) is estimated to have reached 1.98 million.
In the air, approximately 9,200 flights took off from the Airport, a 10% year-over-year increase, with a total of around 18,400 arriving and departing flights.
