​Airport Remains On Target to Break Passenger Record

January 25, 2016 - Charlotte Douglas International Airport remains on target to break its 44.3 million passenger record that was set in 2014. Passenger traffic increased 1.5 percent to 41,203,597 travelers visiting the terminal January – November 2015 compared to the same time period in 2014. Final 2015 numbers will be released in February.   

 

Operations remained steady overseeing 498,872 landings and departures January – November 2015.

 

Cargo activity rose 1 percent to 122,637 tons of cargo moved at CLT through November.

 

International passenger traffic, however, dipped to 2,630,528 fliers (January – November 2015) due to the previously announced realignment of international routes by American Airlines.

 

As part of the Airport’s increasing service, American Airlines added nonstop flights from CLT to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Springfield, MO on November 5.
