Local Passenger Counts Continue to Soar
July 6, 2021 - Travel returned to near pre-pandemic levels at Charlotte Douglas International Airport during the Independence Day weekend, as TSA screened 126,372 passengers July 1-5. Those numbers are in addition to the approximately 100,000 passengers that connect through CLT daily.
The busiest local passenger day was Friday, July 2, when 30,151 passengers came through the TSA checkpoints. It is the first time CLT eclipsed the 30,000 local passenger count since Feb. 7, 2020, when the TSA screened 32,184 passengers.
