USA Field Hockey, Taekwondo Receive Festive Send-offs
July 31, 2024 - Charlotte Douglas International Airport hosted send-off celebrations for the USA Women’s Field Hockey and Taekwondo teams as they began their journey to the Paris Olympic Games.
Hundreds of travelers waved American flags and cheered as the athletes walked through the Airport. CLT staff escorted the teams with a little parade.
Delta Air Lines, the official airline of Team USA, recognized the athletes with a party at the gate, including red, white and blue cupcakes, a selfie station and gate agents decked out in patriotic gear.
CLT partners Paradies Lagardère and HMSHost went all-out for the athletes, with food and drinks and goodie bags full of snacks for their long flights.
In addition to USA Field Hockey and USA Taekwondo, USA Archery athletes also train in Charlotte.
