Summer travel is heating up at CLT. Passenger and flight numbers have been steadily rising throughout 2021.

In June, OAG reported CLT was the second busiest airport in the world. Last month, CLT served more than four million passengers, which is approximately 98 percent of passenger levels pre-pandemic in June 2019.

So, where are people flying? The Airport’s top five domestic routes this year are Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, Detroit, and Denver. International destinations making the top five are Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
